"Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance."

  1. knowing every thing about every thing is uncheckable and unrealistic, no matter how much we learn there still things we don't know about.. learning cycle is spiral movement, the more we learn the more it get's bigger and bigger because of the things we realize that we don't know about and we become eager to know more.

we should all know no matter how we know,, we still know little and the wisest people know this truth and realize that they don't know...

Socrates once asked: Why u have been chose as the wisest man in Greece?

    He replied:
Maybe I am the only man who knows he doesn't know anything at all!

  2. Very well said bumble_bee:)

Learning never stops.Every day we learn something new and different and the wise who searches for knowledge and is convinced that his learning won't stop till he dies. pretending to be an ignorant person sometimes doesn't mean that our mind is empty.Sometimes it means that our minds is eager to aquire new information and experiences.

Knowledge is a power. The more we seek knowledge the more powerful we become:)

we still unable to know every thing about something, partial things are always missing, and knowing these little partial things lead us to major important information and then we go (OH how didn't i know about this) :D

  5. I guess to be a well-rounded social person, it's better to know something about everything rather than be an expert in a specific field only.

  6. Well said bumble_beee. That's the beuaty of it, is for u to loOK to know everything about something.

As for you Mr. Farran, being well rounded and knowing what's going on on every field is a goOd thing and it's wht make u different and educated. My point is if u wna know about something, u better know it all insTeaD of geTting the high-lights of it. :D

  7. Very good point of view dear 7noon:). But sometimes it is not possible to know every thing about something. Subhanallah something remains hidden or unknown. But as you said we can work so hard to uncover these hidden things and make it possible to know every thing about something:).

Dear 7noon sometimes it is better to know something about everthing.Knowledge is not restricted to a specific field.Sometimes little information have a big effect:)Little information better than no thing:)

  8. 7noOn, i think that no matter how much we learned and became educated in specific field or about some thing we still know little and we can't be sure that we know every thing about something..

it's like in medical or computer and networking u have to keep searching and studying constantly to be keep yourself pace with the recent development.

that's why no matter how much i went into deep l'll still say, as Mr.Farran said, l know something about this thing.

  10. 7no0n - I see what you mean. When there's a feeling of emptiness in a specific field, curiosity kicks in and we naturally feel the need to learn or get more info.
