English Language is one of the flexiable and interesting languages.No body can igonre that English language became the international language. Many people around the world try to learn English for different purposes and to get prestige.Also, English language has its own unique characteristics that make every learner enjoys learning it.
When you have two people from different countries (a Kuwaiti and a Frenchman for example) the language they most likely will use to communicate with each other is English because it is the most popular choice nowadays.
I speak 5 of those :) Alhamdulillah ; plus can only read a sixth , sort of slightly understand a seventh , and InshaAllah hope to plan to want to learn an eighth & ninth InshaAllah , out of all the 10 ;) MashaAllah / Alhamdulillah !
Sorry - very Modestly speaking (don't get me wrong) am just over enthusiastic about languages and learning and multilingual and and and :D (plz excuse me!)
yup English is the unofficial lingua franca definitely ; though it might be that sometimes English doesn't work :p and you need to switch to perhaps Arabic or Hindustani or Mandarin or something ..
Ooh yes Sign Language .. :D the actual official one InshaAllah hope to learn , and the typical unofficial one - well that's our saviour in tight spots!
And then there are those languages that are difficult to master and interpret correctly - language of the eyes , body language , mind language , hidden meanings language etc etc ... akh life would be simpler :)
Language of the eyes and body language etc is difficult for men to learn, women seem to be better at decoding such language. Men feel handicapped in this area!
English is the international language :D and bumble_beee's favorite foreign language :$
